One Person Stabbed Near NE Albuquerque Bus Stop, Victim Condition Unknown

Albuquerque –

Just before 1:50 PM, a stabbing was reported near the San Mateo Blvd. and Prospect Ave NE bus stop. A caller advised police that the person who was stabbed appeared to be barely breathing. Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department and medical crews from Albuquerque Fire and Albuquerque Ambulance responded to the listed location.

Upon arrival, officers located an individual suffering from stab-type wounds. The person was reportedly transported to a local-area hospital by Albuquerque Ambulance. Their current condition is unknown.

The suspect responsible for the stabbing fled the scene and allegedly stole the victim’s backpack when they fled.

Southbound San Mateo is closed at Prospect for the time being as police conduct their investigation.
