Albuquerque Fire Rescue is on scene of a fire near the 5600 Block of Mosquero Ct NW. AFR was dispatched to the scene just before 7:40AM with reports of an occupant and animals potentially still inside the residence.

Upon arrival, AFR discovered that all the occupants had managed to escape the flames, ensuring their safety. However, there were indications that some dogs and cats remained inside the residence. AFR immediately initiated rescue efforts with the primary objective of saving any animals that might be trapped within the home.
As the situation remains dynamic, the exact cause of the fire has yet to have been released. This is a developing story, we will update it as more information becomes available.

UPDATE:
AFR announced on the scanner that three occupants were inside the home when the fire started. On the scanner, we heard that AFR was in the process of counting the number of dogs and cats that they had found on the scene; you could hear a dog or dogs barking in the background. It has not been disclosed if all the pets were accounted for.
SECOND UPDATE:
We reached out to AFR this morning and they kindly provided us with an update.
They said early this morning, Albuquerque Fire Rescue crews responded to a structure fire at 5609 Mosquera Ct NW. The fire was reported at 7:30 AM, and when crews arrived on scene, they saw smoke coming from a single-family residential home. All of the occupants had safely evacuated the home before firefighters arrived.
Fire crews immediately made entry into the home and were able to contain the fire to the room of origin. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.
The residents of the home and their multiple pets will be staying with relatives. No other information is available at this time.
