Single Family Dwelling Blaze on San Luis Obispo Ave NE

At 1:25 PM, on March 6, Albuquerque Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to 6632 San Luis Obispo Ave NE for reports of a single-family home fire. Engine 20 arrived within five minutes and reported a working fire with smoke and flames showing. A total of 12 AFR units responded, bringing the fire under control within 28 minutes. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported. Crews rescued a cat from the home, though it later fled into the neighborhood. The homeowner is optimistic about its return. The residents were not home at the time of the fire. Fire investigators continued their on-site investigation. However, as of this publication, no further information is available at this time.

Fire at the Studios On Route 66

On March 6, just after 8:00 PM, AFR responded to 13031 Central Ave NE, the Studios On Route 66, for a reported structure fire at a two-story, multi-family building. Engine 12 arrived on scene with nothing showing but reported a light smoke odor. Upon investigation, crews located an apartment with smoke showing, prompting Engine 12 to force entry while stretching a line. Rescue 12 made entry with a water can, initiating a primary search as Engine 12 advanced the line. Crews quickly knocked down a small contents fire and found no additional hazards during their search. Investigators determined the fire was accidental. Rescue 12 treated one patient on-scene, and Albuquerque Ambulance Services (AAS) subsequently transported that patient to the hospital.

House Fire on Manitoba Dr NE

At approximately 10:00 PM, on March 6, AFR units responded to 13313 Manitoba Dr NE for reports of a possible structure fire at a two-story home. Engine 16 arrived on scene, confirming a working fire. Crews quickly brought the fire under control within minutes, containing damage to a small area around the fireplace. The home remained habitable. No civilians or firefighters sustained injuries. Investigators ruled the fire accidental. No additional details are available at this time.
