On February 28, 2025, at around 8:30 PM, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Central Ave and Louisiana Blvd. Investigators later determined that a male pedestrian had been at a bus stop on the north side of Central Avenue before attempting to cross westbound lanes toward the ART bus station. As the pedestrian entered the ART bus lane, a black Chevy Malibu, traveling at high speed, struck him. The driver did not stop and fled the scene.

The man suffered critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

According to APD, they have identified the vehicle involved in the crash using automated license plate readers. They are currently searching for the vehicle.

APD’s Fatal Crash Team continues to investigate, APD says “further information will be released when available.

  1. Forbes June 2024: “Deadliest States for Pedestrians…New Mexico was number one in the ranking, as the death rate increased 65% over the last decade and is getting worse faster than any other state.” Just my opinion but spending $135 Million on ART which introduced Bus Stops in the middle of Central Blvd was a huge mistake. Time to abandon Albuquerque Rapid Transient and return Central to its original configuration. Whomever thought ART was a good idea should be exposed for the IDIOT they are.

    1. It was dumb ass Republican Richard Berry…..you had a lot to say but had no idea what administration constructed ART…lol

  2. Ali Baba….Actually Dekker Perich Sabatini was the Architectural firm that was responsible for the conception and design of the ART project….to be more specific who signed and stamped those drawings? I really don’t believe Mayor Berry designed it Nimrod.

  3. Most NM’s shouldn’t be allowed to drive: They do what they want, purposely ignore the law, and when raged, or won’t follow traffic laws, they commit felonies and willing to commit homicide. Then the dems are all, “Don’t scold mijo, it’s Trump’s fault.” Of course people jay walk and even those f cyclists insist on riding double, when some roads are so old and narrow, they don’t have the width for two vehicles. Yes, the stupid, lay, and selfish is strong in this state.

Add in their low IQ, abysmal education, enabled culture, tinted windows so dark you can’s see out of, texting and driving (notice how people can’t even leave their drive ways without it in their hand?) then their drugs, weed, or other crazy Karen meds the are on. Then they play stupid or try to be the victim. Bearing false witnesses, is as common as the crime here. Most just don’t care, they do what every they want and want to get away with it, forcing others to pay for their crime. Why do they reward them, by allowing them to drive anyway?

Because not only is insurance big dollars, but everyone makes a buck off it, except the victim. The courts, lawyers, insurance of course- medical, physical therapy, mental health quacks, big pharma, automotive, even the tow truck driver makes a buck off it. What about those who get hit by someone with zero insurance, and has no liquidity!? Like illegals that are allowed to be here? Or felons paroled 20x? Who does that and why? You’re insurance goes up, and life time of injury or pain, with “Welp, your plan doesn’t cover this.”
