Albuquerque –
There is police activity in the area of 5701 Iliff Rd NW, which is near Coors and Iliff. Reportedly, there is an Albuquerque Police Department officer-involved shooting.
One person sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including in the chest and one extremity.
At some point during the incident an APD officer was shot at least once, but their duty issued vest purportedly caught the round.
Albuquerque Fire Rescue was being sent to the area. The exact condition of the suspect is unknown, but they were taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital.
The Multi-Agency Task Force is responding to the scene to start an investigation.

UPDATE:
APD’s civilian PIO Gilbert Gallegos released an update on the officer that was struck stating “Officers thought the bullet struck the vest, but after inspecting it, the bullet was lodged in the radio, which was attached to the vest.”
At last word, the suspect was listed in critical condition at UNMH.
