APD Rushes to Arrest Felons on Saturday Afternoon

It was a busy afternoon in Albuquerque with criminals trying to get away with hardworking citizen’s stuff. Around 4:30PM, there was a burglary in progress near the 3700 block of Rutledge Road NE. A caller phoned APD indicating they were having items stolen from their business.

Northeast APD uniformed and PRT officers flooded the area and were able to locate a truck occupied by three individuals. They were able to take all three into custody. One of the three suspects, who had one leg, was released from custody.

Officers were looking at a truck with no license plate and had items in the bed of the truck.

Meanwhile, an hour later, southeast officers were dispatched to a stolen truck. The owner was able to locate it at a Burger King near Lomas Blvd and Louisiana Blvd. APD officers attempted to stop the truck in the parking lot, but it fled. APD officers disengaged from the pursuit. A few minutes later, security at the Uptown Target notified APD that the truck was in their parking lot.

  1. He did not think his very low pants attire would hinder his running abilities, after Stealing a person’s vehicle. Then he chose to flee, and risk injuring other people on our roads, while committing another crime. Is he a career truck thief, too? Did he get out on Bail yet? Is he wearing an ankle monitor? Good thing he was caught by APD, let’s hope a Judge will consider him a risk to owners of vehicles.
