On Sunday, March 16, we advised you of an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Around 9:10 PM, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) and Albuquerque Fire Rescue (AFR) responded to the crash scene near the intersection of Unser Blvd NW and Los Volcanes Rd NW.

Upon arrival, first responders found an unresponsive individual who was not breathing. AFR reportedly attempted life-saving measures, but pronounced the person dead at the scene.

At the time of the crash, police closed both directions of Unser Blvd between Los Volcanes Rd NW and I-40. Reportedly, authorities had also closed the exit ramp from eastbound I-40 to southbound Unser Blvd.

APD’s Fatal Crash Team promptly responded to the incident location and conducted a comprehensive investigation to determine the cause of the fatal crash.

At 12:26 PM on Monday, March 17, the Albuquerque Police Department issued a media advisory about the crash and ongoing investigation, stating:

On March 16, 2025, officers were dispatched to the area just after 9:00pm in reference to a fatal vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. The early investigation showed that a vehicle traveling south on Unser Boulevard struck the pedestrian while traveling in the center lane of southbound traffic.

Detectives are working to identify the deceased pedestrian that was located on scene.

The vehicle is identified as a possible white 2015-2019 GMC or Chevy 1500 truck. The vehicle will have extensive damage to the driver’s side bumper and fog lamps. Anyone with any possible information is encouraged to contact the Albuquerque Police Department or call 505-242-COPS.

This is an ongoing investigation and further information will be released when available.

  1. DA will plead this down to leaving scene of accident. Unless person is under 25 and the da will most likely refuse to prosecute at all. Think I’m lying – the state voted down this asshole da plan to rewrite the juvenile code because he wants to charge people up to 25 years old as juvenile. Thus, when some 24 year old scumbag murders you the da wants a max of (8) years in jail. He also refuses to charge anyone under 25 with a second offense dui. Think I’m lying, I know a 24 year old on her (4th) first offense dui. I have an employee who has a second dui – her first one was at 32 and second one at 36. She has been charged full force both times – no previous dui before that.
    Like I said. This is all your own faults for voting for this guy. At some point your retarded – esque childlike vote against my own self interest democrat being person needs to get your shit together.
