Fatal Shooting Reported in Foothills; APD Launches Homicide Investigation

Albuquerque –

Around 9:50 PM, a shooting incident was reported near 557 Tramway Blvd NE, which is near the Ridge Apartments.

In response, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department’s Foothills Area Command and emergency medical personnel from Albuquerque Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene.

Upon their arrival, they found an individual with at least one gunshot wound. AFR’s Rescue 8 attempted life saving medical interventions and the person died from the gunshot wound.

A witness told us they heard at least 5 gunshots in the apartment complex.

APD’s Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are being called to investigate.

This location has experienced multiple incidents of police activity over the years, including SWAT standoffs and homicide investigations.
