Two Shot, One Killed on Indiana Near Central

Around 6:20 PM, officers from the Albuquerque Police Department responded to the area of Central and Indiana after receiving multiple calls about individuals shot in the area.

When officers arrived near the 110 block of Indiana St SE, they found at least two gunshot wound victims. One person was allegedly shot in the lower leg, and another individual was reportedly shot multiple times. The victim, who was shot multiple times, was purportedly listed in critical condition.

Officers are closing off Indiana between Cochiti and Central, while they search for the suspect and investigate this shooting.

Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes and avoid the area.

This has been a particularly busy evening for the APD. Earlier, around 4:15 PM, APD responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash at Central and Eubank. Then, there was a stabbing at Central and High Street just before 4:30 PM. Finally, there were reports of a possible shooting at the Circle K on University and Menaul at 5:20 PM.

If we learn more about this shooting, we will update you.

Update 2:

We have learned that the man who was shot multiple times has died from his injuries. When officers arrived on the scene to find both victims, they believed the male victim had been shot approximately 5-6 times.

The second shooting victim is stable with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

APD’s homicide detectives have been called to investigate.
