The Albuquerque Police Department’s Motor Unit is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on the Pan American Fwy near Jefferson.

Before 11 PM, the Albuquerque Police Department and Albuquerque Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the accident. AFR attempted life-saving measures for the pedestrian at the scene, but they died from their injuries.

APD officers and PSAs have reportedly started blocking off the Pan American Fwy at The 25 Way — which is near the PF Chang’s through Jefferson to conduct the crash investigation.

If more information is released about this crash, we will update you.

UPDATE:

The Albuquerque Police Department released information about this crash on Wednesday, July 16th at 10am, almost 12 hours after the crash and it stated:

“APD’s Fatal Crash Team is investigating a fatal hit and run crash involving a pedestrian that happened near the intersection of Jefferson Street NE and Interstate 25 South Pan American Freeway.

Officers were dispatched to the area and located a deceased male in the roadway. The injuries the male sustained were consistent with that of being run over by a vehicle. The vehicle involved did not stay on scene.

This is an ongoing investigation and further information will be released when available.”
