Albuquerque –
On November 23, 2024, we reported to you about an officer from the Albuquerque Police Department being fired upon during a traffic stop. We have learned more about what transpired. Police charged 19-year-old of Josiah Arvizu of Albuquerque with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
An officer was conducting a routine patrol in the area of San Pedro Blvd and Lomas Blvd when they observed a silver Chrysler 300 traveling north on San Pedro. After a query through the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD), the vehicle was observed to be displaying a New Mexico license plate with a suspended registration. The officer activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. The Chrysler came to a stop on Arizona St NE, just north of Lomas Blvd, in front of 1200 Arizona St NE. The vehicle was occupied by a driver, a front passenger, and three rear-seat passengers.
As the officer approached, they noticed three spent bullet casings visible through the un-tinted rear window. The casings were positioned behind the backseat headrests. The driver of the Chrysler provided his driver’s license to the officer, but he was unable to produce vehicle registration or proof of insurance. Due to the presence of the spent casings and the potential that the occupants were armed and had allegedly recently fired shots, the officer requested backup. An officer arrived as backup and they began addressing the passengers.
Shortly after, a gray Hyundai brazenly drove past the traffic stop at a high rate of speed and fired rounds supposedly at the Chrysler. The vehicle then fled west onto Marble Ave. The officer that was serving as backup followed the Hyundai as it fled north on San Pedro Blvd. The first officer remained at the scene with the Chrysler. Upon returning, the backup officer reported that one of the backseat passengers in the Chrysler 300 had been on a video call with a male occupant of the fleeing Hyundai, suggesting a connection between the two vehicles.
Evidence supported that shots had been fired both from the Chrysler and from another vehicle during the traffic stop. The first officer ordered the occupants of the Chrysler out of the vehicle. In the backseat, Josiah Arvizu was seated on the passenger side, with two 16-year-olds positioned next to him. After patting down the occupants for weapons, the officer seated them on the sidewalk.

Inside the vehicle, two firearms were found in plain view on the floorboard near where Arvizu’s feet had been. One firearm’s barrel was visible, while a second weapon’s slide had a “switch” used to convert the gun into a fully automatic machine gun were also observable. The vehicle was sealed pending a search warrant to recover the firearms at a separate location.
While we were on the scene, we saw APD informing individuals that the Chrysler was being towed as evidence. Consequently, the occupants were advised to find an alternative means of transportation to get home.
Given Arvizu’s proximity to the firearms and the presence of two juveniles seated next to him, it was determined that his actions likely contributed to the delinquency of the minors. Arvizu was subsequently booked for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. It’s uncertain whether additional charges related to the firearms will be added later, once the car is processed by the crime lab.
As of this posting, the driver and front passenger of the Chrysler have not been charged in this incident. Additionally, none of the adult occupants of the Chrysler 300 appear to have been charged with shooting from that vehicle.
Our search of MDC booking records yielded no bookings related to the Hyundai or its occupants. It is suspected that the psychopathic occupants of the grey Hyundai have not been found.

There is a legal version of the Glock Switch.
The Supreme Court recently said these are legal.

Why stand in the way of vermin-on-vermin violence?
Let the little vatos kill each other. Nothing of value will be lost.
Of course APD did do gunshot residue tests on the hands of everyone/suspects in the Chrysler 300, to determine how many occupants fired the weapons found. That was they rule out ‘innocent occupants’, who were just in the driver’s seat. Checking the bullet cases seen, for fingerprints does happen sometime, as well. Where did they Legally buy their weapons?
This is the sleepy little neighborhood I grew up in…WTF is happening to our city? The homelessness, street drugs, murders and moral decay is out of control. And the irony is people blame APD for dealing with these scom bags with lethal force. East Central has devolved into a third world country and our Mayor does crap to deal with it. In the last 24 hours AFR has responded to 84 warming fires!!!! How’s this sanctuary city working for you Timmy? At what point do law abiding citizens take our streets back? I don’t even recognize my home town anymore. Sad.
This incompetant Mayor has destroyed this City.
Of course he is a fish lipped pant sagging garden variety Africanas Criminalus, otherwise known as the North American Pavement Ape!
Felons allowed on the streets is bad enough… I think I will write President Trump and see what he can do about implementing tent city prisons. He will understand the practical savings and safety for the tax payers, as well as the effectiveness of such rehabilitation.
