At 8:15 PM, Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to 5800 Central Ave SW following reports of a structure fire. Three storage units at the All Safe Self-Stor are reportedly on fire. Albuquerque Fire Rescue dispatched Battalion Chiefs 1 and 4, Engines 7, 14, and 17, Ladder Trucks 7 and 17, Rescues 7 and 14, and Squad 1. Emergency operators also received a call about a possible explosion in the vicinity.

Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department and Police Service Aides are blocking eastbound Central Avenue at 59th Street. This closure subject to change as more AFR units arrive or leave.

A person at the scene informed us that indeed only three units are involved. As of 9:10 PM, AFR crews are still at the location fighting the blaze, but it is contained Central and 59th Street.
