Albuquerque –
The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash on I-25 southbound near Rio Bravo Blvd. Due to the severity of the crash, I-25 southbound is completely closed at Rio Bravo.**
Albuquerque Police Officers and APD Police Service Aides are assisting to block traffic on I-25 southbound. BCSO posted on social media that drivers should expect delays for the next several hours.
This area of the travel is also experiencing a significant downpour of rain at the moment, like other areas in the metro, drivers should exercise caution.

UPDATE:
**Prior to publishing this post, we contacted BCSO to confirm the status of I-25, and were initially informed that both northbound and southbound lanes were closed. Shortly after publication, BCSO provided an update clarifying that only the southbound lanes were closed, reflecting the evolving nature of the situation.
UPDATE 2:
This crash investigation and closure is still ongoing as of 6:55 PM.
UPDATE 3:
NM Road cams appear to show that I-25SB is back open. However, we have no official confirmation from BCSO.
