Albuquerque –
Minutes after 7:40 PM, on April 2, the Albuquerque Police Department (APD), Albuquerque Fire Rescue (AFR), and Albuquerque Ambulance Services (AAS) were dispatched to the area of Coors Blvd NW and Sequoia Rd NW. They were sent in response to a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle that struck a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, they found that the pedestrian reportedly had life-threatening injuries. According to a witness, the motorcycle rider was conscious and talking at the scene. AAS transported the pedestrian to the University of New Mexico Hospital in critical condition. The rider was also taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
Because one person sustained critical injuries, APD’s Motor Unit responded to the scene. Currently, APD and Police Service Aides (PSA) have blocked off lanes in the area while the APD Motor Unit investigates. Coors southbound is closed between St. Josephs Dr NW and Sequoia.
If we learn more about this crash, we will provide an update.
UPDATE @10:59 PM:
APD reopened all lanes of southbound Coors around 10:55 PM.
