APD Investigating Fatal Crash Involving Stolen Vehicle that Hit Innocent Elderly Victims

Albuquerque –

Around 4:25 PM, a stolen vehicle reportedly crashed into another car at Marquette and Espanola. The individual driving the stolen car, which was a white Infinity SUV, then allegedly fled the scene on foot. The man who ran and another person in the car were detained while officers investigated.

The impact of the crash reportedly pinned the driver of the innocent car inside her car. When officers from the Albuquerque Police Department responded, they found that the driver did not appear to have a pulse and was unresponsive. APD officers requested from dispatch that AFR expedite their response. The driver did finally have a faint pulse while AFR attempted to extricate the female driver from the vehicle. An APD officer at the accident site requested that APD’s Fatal Crash Team respond to start an investigation.

While on the scene, we learned that the driver of the red SUV hit by the stolen white Infinity SUV died. Purportedly, she died while being transported to UNMH.*

Streets in the area are being blocked off so APD’s Fatal Crash Team can investigate.

We will update you when we learn more.

UPDATE:

We later learned that the driver hit by the stolen Infinity died at the scene. In addition, another occupant in the red SUV was taken to UNMH in critical condition.

    1. HAHAHAHA! Amen, man! They know NM’s soft on crime so why not push the envelope? They only understand violence so why not speak their language (to them)? The FAFO motto should be implemented. It’s got nothing to do with fairness (who said life is fair?): Sometimes opportunity knocks but once. This pavement ape (I’m stealing that!) knew he was wrong; he just didn’t care.

      1. It’s completely understandable why we all feel angry at these two men – two criminals – who hit and killed two innocent women. It’s understandable that we want swift justice, and even more strict, punitive justice. I feel your frustration, too. But I do encourage you to not let your anger lead you into a more generalized animosity and racism (“pavement ape” and so on). You know, people of all races and backgrounds do these horrible things, and conversely, many black folks are upstanding citizens, working and contributing much to society. Don’t let the worst of all of us define your view of humanity, or of various ethnic and racial groups.
