UPDATE:
Around 10:04PM, AFR posted on their Facebook page that:
Engine 16 and Rescue 16 responded to a motor vehicle collision at Tramway and Montgomery. Both units parked to shield the scene from oncoming traffic. While attending to the situation and assessing patients, Engine 16 was struck on the front left corner by a northbound SUV.
The impact prompted Engine 16 to call for additional apparatus to manage the expanded scene and evaluate the need for extrication, as well as the conditions of firefighters and the SUV driver. Crews successfully removed the SUV driver for assessment.
One person from the initial accident was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. No firefighters were injured, and there were no additional injuries from the original collision.
The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating the crash.
Emergency crews positioned their vehicles to protect the scene, responders, and those being treated. Motorists are urged to slow down and move over for crews working on the roadways.
