Albuquerque –
Officers from the Albuquerque Police Department are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that involved a pedestrian near the intersection of Quail Rd NW and Coors Blvd NW.
First responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene, and APD’s Fatal Crash Team is responding to the area.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials will release more details as they become available.
Authorities urge the public to avoid the area and take an alternate route.

APD released an update which stated:
APD officers responded just after 9:00PM on Saturday to reports of a motor vehicle crash where a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that had left the scene. During the preliminary investigation, officers learned that north and southbound Coors Blvd had a green traffic signal at the intersection of Quail Road. A white Nissan Kicks was traveling north on Coors Blvd in the center lane and just north of the intersection, a male ran into traffic going east to west. The driver of the Nissan tried to avoid hitting the pedestrian, but they struck the pedestrian.
