  1. Lot of homeless starting fires. Had one trying to start one behind my home. Sprayed the fire and the person with a hose. A few hours later that same one started a dumpster fire nearby and the FD had to come put it out. This city just keeps getting worse and worse. Thanks MLG.

  2. As a former firefighter some of the more concerning questions should be towards the apt complex owners. Such as were there fire extinguishers readily available? Are there working smoke detectors? Given the time of yr are the heaters in proper working condition?
The dumpster fires are unfortunate but thankfully they are contained in those large metal boxes. For the abandoned structures possibly better securement of the property and or security patrols. Doesn’t take way from the fact people shouldn’t be breaking in and starting fires. My bet is they aren’t starting the fires to burn down the building but more that they fall asleep for whatever the reason. Whether it’s from drugs and alcohol to just plain tired. Then it gets out of control they have no means readily available to try and extinguish the fire.

    1. Thank you for the benefit of your experience. I’m also sure you appreciate the fact that even if their intentions aren’t nefarious, property is destroyed or the use of it is stolen. Insurance companies also don’t consider intentions when raising rates or canceling your policy.
